Description:
Van Rozen was a Belgian sculptor, artist and refugee located in Paris who created a small series of character doll heads produced in very limited quantities. Ceramic bisque-type head marked on back ?Van Rozen France Depose" with character features, feathered eyebrows, brown glass eyes, incised eyelids, painted upper and lower eyelashes, pointed nose, closed mouth, pronounced philtrum, very detailed ears, rosy cheeks, vintage blonde mohair wig; very good French jointed composition and wood body with label Camard-Dimer, Orn. 88-45 Made in France and in ink 196/16, probably an import label. White cotton lace-trimmed underwear, vintage fashion skirt (much wear) and jacket, velvet hat, shoes and stockings. A fabulous and rarely found doll!
