Description:
"AMERICA" paddle wheel river boat. To date this is one of the largest American tin boats known to exist. Typical of the 1880s river boats it shows reality reproduced in toy form. Fancifully stenciled paddle wheel covers, functional walking beam, round pilot house with ornate finial, dual smokestacks with bell between them, a large American flag from rear of second deck and simulated oil lantern on bow of boat. Although not clockwork, this is one of the finest American tin boats to ever come to the market. Predominantly painted in white with red upper decking, pumpkin lower decking and blue paddle wheel covers.
