Company history and description of the company Bahr & Pröschild in Ohrdurf, Germany

In 1871 George Baher and Augus Pröschild foundet the Bahr & Pröschild company as a porcelain and doll factory.
In 1888 they registered their first doll mold .
Around 1919 the merged with the Bruno Schmidt doll company.
They made China, bisque and celluloid dolls and supplied soll heads and parts to other companies, e.g. Bruno Schmidt, Kley & Han, Heinrich Stier and others.
They used the 1911 trademark of Buporit on celluloid dolls.
Approx. 1871 the dolls were marked only with a mold number.
Approx. 1888 DEP was added to the mold number.
Appro. 1895 the initital B&P were added to the doll mark.
Approx. 1900 crossed swords were added to the doll mark.
Approx. 1911 the trademark Buporit was registered.
Approx, 1919 B&P was purchased by Bruno Schmidt who then used a heart with BP as part of the marking.
