Company history and description of the company Eugene Barrois in Paris, France

In 1844 Eugene Barrois started producing dolls in Paris, France.
He was one of the earliest manufacturers of porcelain and China head dolls. The Eyes of the dolls are of glass or painted with long lashes and painted molded hair or wigged.
Barrois also supplied bisque heads to other companies like Bru and Jumeau.
In 1875 Barrois was purchased by Aristride Halopeau.
Most of Barrois dolls are shoulder heads with a few socket heads as well, the Lady fashion dolls body can be of kid, cloth or a wood jointed body, some dolls are found with wood upper arms and bisque hands.
The doll sizes were from 9" to 24" tall (sizing codes of 3/0 - 7).
Doll marks are E.7 DEPOSÈ B, E B, E 3 B, E 3/0 B
