In 1919 the company was founded by Frank E. Wood, and was called to 1922 Girard Model Works Inc.
1922 to 1935 the company was called "Girard Mfg.. Co.
They produced mainly steel cars, trucks and trains
end of the 1920s they produced toys on commission for, and under the name of Marx.
1934 the company went bankrupt, but it has continued to be produce until 1975 .
1935-1975 the company was called "the Toy Works"
1972 the Quaker Oats Marx's bought the American and English toy division and paid out Girard.
