In 1868 the company was founded by JS Heron, James Gresham and Thomas Craven. Besides sewing machines they produces equipments forth the train.
1874 Heron left the company which was then known as Gesham & Craven. Later a sewing machine was sold on the model of Singer named "The Heron".
1884, the production of sewing machines was stopped and the company focused on other projects. They produced the sewing machines Heron, Greshamm Improved Gresham and Gresham Reversable Feed
