Company history and description of the company Ronnaug Petterssen from Norway

01.10.19951 Roonaug Petterssen was born in Hadel Parisch, Vesteralen in Northern Norway.
1933 she was in Spain and there she started to make small dolls with local customs.
In 1934 she opened her doll atelier and her husband Johannes Kunze took over the technical part und she creates the dolls. Her initial dolls were small dolls. She studied adult customes and reduced them for the dolls and so got her indiviual essence and look.
She showed her dolls 1937 at the World Fair in Paris und 1939 in New York where she won the first prize.
1937 she made moulds and started making felt faced dolls.
During the War the workshop was closed but resumed after the war and she started with custumed dolls. Between 1950 and 1960 the production grow and she had up to 50 home workers. During this time she produced felt faced dolls and with an arrangement with two factories also a line of dolls made for her in plastics.
1970 she exhibited widely including Germany, Japan, Poland and other places.
1975 her atelier was closed.
ON 16.12.1979 she died in Oslo
