Company history and description of the company A. Schoenhut & Company, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

In 1872 the company was founded by Albert Schoenhut. Initially, toy pianos were produced.
In the 1890-es a series of 20 different "Living Pictures" whose figures were moved by clockwork were produced. The company is known for high quality dolls and wooden circus figures and comic characters such as "Felix the cat", "Maggie & Jiggs", "Barney Google" and "Spark Plug"
., 1935 the production was abandoned.
1950 Seneca Falls bought the rights to Schoenhuts wooden figures.
