about 1932 the company was founded by Sydney S. Bird. They produced the sewing machine "Vulcan". To get a license he bought two companies "Presticoe" and ?Morthan?. During the Second World War, about 100 sewing machines ( Singer 20 similar) were produced per week . The total toy was sold under the brand name "Vulcan".
1957 they shall have produced three new sewing machines, of which only two the "Junior" and "Senior" are listed in the catalog of the firm of Brown Brother's.
about 1962 the company merged with Astaron-Bird a holding which belonged to the Sydney S Bird , Astaron Electronics and Morthan Ltd. Morthan continued to produce sewing machines mainly distributed from AL Rees in Swansea and Cardiff.
About 1963/64, began the production of the "Countess" sewing machine.
The beginning of 1970 was Astaron -Bird was taken over from the Brocks group.
About 1971 the Vulcan was not longer produced. Only the Little Betty" machines were produced .
About 1982 the American company bought the Communications Group.
