The Murray Ohio Manufacturing Company was founded in Ohio in 1919.

Many old toys are labeled "Steelcraft". These toys were manufactured by Murray Ohio Manufacturing Co..
Until 1923, Murray also made toy cars using the steel and manufacturing methods used to make full-size auto parts.
The toys were marketed as Steelcraft Wheel Goods. This diversity helped Murray to survive the depression. The company's pedal cars, planes, roller coasters, bicycles and smaller toys with wheels were labeled "Steelcraft".
Bicycles were also manufactured from the mid-1930s.
Murray has made many other products, including lawn mowers and tractors. Special order toy trucks were even manufactured that looked like a customer's full-size delivery van.
