Company history and description of the company W&R Jacobs & Co

1851 W&R Jacob was founded by two Quaker brothers, William and Robert, in Waterford, Ireland. Shortly afterwards the firm relocated to Peter?s Row, Dublin.
1880 a fire completely destroyed the factory and then was completely rebuilt.
1881 the "American Crakers" were introduced.
1885 the "Cream Cracker" were introduced.
Sinces 1914 manufacture began on a land at Aintree behind Hartley?s jam factory.
1920 the English subsidiary was established as an independent company with the foundation of the Irish Free State.
1960 it was acquired by Associated Biscuits.
In 1990 all Huntley & Palmer all products were relabelled under the Jacob?s brand.
2004 United Biscuits acquired Associated Biscuits and rebranded all biscuits under the Jacob's name in 2014.
