Company history and description of the company Adolf Wislizenus, Waltershausen, Thuringia, Germany

In 1851 the doll factory was founded by Mr Gottlob Created in Waltershausen. They started making papier-mache dolls, which were also exported.
In 1879 Adolf Wislizenus joined as a partner in the company.
From 1875 to 1885 they also made wax dolls.
Approximately In 1878, Adolf Wislizenus became the sole owner.
Over the years, the company became several owners.
As of 1894, they introduced the ball jointed body of Jumeau which then were taken over of all companies in Waltershausen.
From 1902 they had the trademark "Old Glory".
1931 the company went bankrupt and König & Wernicke acquired the estate
. With the heads of Simon & Halbig the form numbers 1249 and 1079 are known.
With the heads of Bahr & Proeschild the form numberx 252 and 289 are known.
After 1910 is Ernst Heubach and Armand Marseille are known as suppliers of doll heads.
The dolls were sold in the United States by Hamburg & Company.
