Description:
This is a simple overtype steam engine. Not much is known about it or the maker, except that it was made in Bradford.
The horizontal brass boiler is 2" diameter x 4 1/8" long. It is fired by a single wick meths burner. It has no water level indication; the instructions say " Fill the boiler to within half an inch from the top ...". There is a spring type safety valve and a dummy chimney (missing).
The engine frame is mounted on the boiler and is a sturdy brass bar. Steam is fed directly from the top of the boiler, via a short length of pipe, to the back of the engine frome, which incorporates the port face. The single acting oscillating cylinder is 1/4" bore x 1/2" stroke. The crankshaft consists of a disk crank at one end and a 1 1/2" diameter steel flywheel at the other.
