Description:
Swiss railway station music box, made in Ste. Croix. These were used in the waiting rooms of train stations to entertain passengers, especially children. Most were assembled by entrepreneurs such as Henri Vidoudez, who leased them to the railroads on a profit-sharing arrangement. This continued on a limited basis until about 1960, when the last of them were removed and placed in museums or private collections. With 10-tune musical movement with by Junod, 3 Bells and accompanying drum with 7 "beaters", 3 Dancing dolls that pirouette on their feet, Coin-op mechanism, Outside winding crank, Original tune sheet, Automatic internal light activates when music is playing and lock and key
