Early American firehouse with fire pumper, unknown manufacturer, this very rare toy is one of three now known in complete form, and one is featured in the important Barney Barenholtz book; it has folk art appeal both in ist design and ist visual historical significance of early American life. The firehouse is made of wood and painted in red overall with stenciling on sides, while the horse drawn fire pumper is made of wood and tin with two white tin horses; the actions of this toy involve lifting a lever to release a rubber banded pumper while a cord at a window allows a figure to pop out of top window, and a second cord allows front doors to open, bell ringer is rung manually by lever on back of house
